What's typical at this age

Growth in length continues steadily at roughly 1–1.5 cm a month as babies become more mobile. Length still tracks its own curve — a baby who has always been long or short is usually just that. Between month 8 and month 9, the median girl grows about 1.4 cm.

A percentile compares your girl to other girls the same age — the 50th is simply the middle.
